ACTIVIST, PHILOSOPHER, ANTI-DRUG CRUSADER, COMEDIAN, AUTHOR, ACTOR & NUTRITIONIST is coming to Charlotte as part of the "Change is Coming to Charlotte!!!" event series. Dick Gregory not only marched along side Martin Luther King Jr., he was a friend. African American comedian and civil rights activist whose social satire changed the way white Americans perceived African American comedians since he first performed in 1961. By 1962 Gregory had become a nationally known headline performer, selling out nightclubs, making numerous national television appearances, and recording popular comedy albums.
