Overview

Analog Daze new CD entitled “Providence” (RetroGraff Music) is the Charlotte NC based quartets second musically offering and is a follow up to their much praised “Throwback Anthems”. “Providence” is a rich mixture of well-crafted songs that capture the energy, attitude, and honesty the band has become known for - This 9-song set was produced by Eric Lovell at Blu Bubble Studios and showcases the emotion-charged mix of county, southern influenced, and indie rock with a little bit more of an introspective and soul searching side than their previous release. As much sonic havoc as Analog Daze unleashes in concert with their rock’n up-tempo favorites, on this disc the country influenced songs and ballads really take center stage. Sean Carrouth’s distinct and expressive vocals really shine throughout and are matched by the multi-textured guitars both of Sean and Craig Hanks, with Eric Lovell also sharing acoustic guitar, slide, and backing vocal duties. Jason Adkin’s hauntingly expressive organ/piano and the propulsive rhythm section created by veterans, John Christenbury (bass) and Tom Thomas (Drums) laydown a solid foundation that really grabs your ear and propel the songs to inspiration. The songs' appeal is further elevated by the band's three-part vocal harmonies and interesting arrangements that make judicious use of the sonic landscape elements and added percussion. Featured tracks include: “ I understand” - a country flared sing along romp, the title track Providence – a haunting sweet instrumental featuring Eric Lovell on slide guitar, and “Never Meant to Be” featuring a duet with Sean Carrouth and songsters extraordinaire Shannon Lee that will completely rip your heart out. Other gems that stand out are “The Table”, “Touch the Sky” and a bonus studio demo track of “Winter’s Calling” a fan favorite as heard on 106.5 The END Divakar’s New Rock - 90 minutes show. The depth displayed throughout “Providence” demonstrates how Analog Daze has evolved from rough-edged club act to arena-ready rock 'n' roll juggernaut as well as continues to steadily extend and expand along their musical journey.
