Back South is a CigarBox driven dirty blues rock band out of Asheville NC. Fusing many roots music genres with emphasis on Piedmont Carolina styles mixed with the flavors of the Delta and North Mississippi, country blues…..along with a nasty bite of the Swamps. Todd Cecil, group founder, has been an international touring performer for 5 years. After moving to Asheville from Nashville, Todd created Back South as a dynamic live act incorporating many flavors of southern music. - "Back South shines brightest in live performances which we try to infuse with as much energy as we can squeeze out of ourselves and the audiences. Our shows always seem to go in interesting directions and are always original." The music is high energy gasoline driven, guaranteed to make ya move, boogie-woogie Blues-Rock with a touch of Bluegrass and Old-Time, Southern Gospel and Dirty North Mississippi blues.
