Overview
Bill Noonan has been exploring the border of country and rock and roll on the Charlotte scene since the 1980s. Joining forces in the Hey Joes with veteran local players Joe Williams (bass), Joe Turick (steel/electric guitar) and Tim Belk (drums), this group of “Country & Western traditionalists with rock and roll tendencies” delivers a mix of originals and interesting covers, authentically evoking the old-school Hank Sr. sound with a traditional steel/standup bass/acoustic guitar lineup, then ending the night with rocking, Tele-driven twang.
