Overview
Poetry slams are open to all students 13-19 years old. The slams will consist of three elimination rounds. The top six scoring poets from the February and March slams qualify for the Finals in April. These poets will then compete to determine the members of the 2014 Charlotte Youth Slam Team. The Finals will also consist of a team slam representing four area high schools. An open mic reading will precede the slam for all poets who want to read their poetry without competition.
