Overview
Mavis Staples sang gospel with The Staple Singers and R&B standards like “I’ll Take You There.” She took home a Grammy in 2010 for her CD “You Are Not Alone” produced by Jeff Tweedy (Wilco). She is a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award winner, and National Heritage Fellowship Award recipient. Rolling Stone listed her as one of the 100 Greatest Singers of All Time.
