Parranda Navidena

Overview

Parranda Navideña is the first authentic, Latin American Christmas celebration in the Charlotte area. Latinos in Charlotte often feel nostalgia for the holiday festivities in their home countries, where the entire month of December can only be described as a giant party.  The event will filled with fun traditions, live music performance by Juan Carlos Arcaya, former singer of Gran Coquivacoa, and his band SwinGaitero, a Miami Venezuelan Gaitas band that will delight the audience with classic from Maracaibo 15, Guaco, Cardenales del Exito, Gaiteros de Pillopo and many more that are essential in the holiday season. We will also have live music performance of Salsa, Cumbia & Vallenatos.  In additional to live music we will have a delicious traditional Venezuelan Christmas foods that include 'Hallacas' also known as tamales in other areas - the Pan de Jamón - a type of bread that's made with puff pastry, filled up with ham, raisins, olives and bacon and shaped like a 'swiss roll'! Chicken Salad and Pernil (a leg of pork).  Join us as we recreate the spirit of a Latin American Christmas in the Queen City.
