Overview

Drawing from a diverse musical palette of funk, rock, reggae, and hip-hop, Proverbial seamlessly intertwines their music with heart-felt vocal harmonies and powerful lead vocals. Recognized for their amazing live performances, Proverbial rocks the crowds with their high energy, no limits take on sonic audio expression.  Proverbial has a roster of successes under their belt, with their direct supporting slots with Sublime w/ Rome, Tribal Seeds, FLOBOTS, Ballyhoo!, and Crash Kings just to name a few. This led to a very active 2013, playing 100+ shows and a performance at the Jersey Shore Music Festival alongside Aer and Papadosio. They were named “Band on the Verge” in Relix magazine and were also chosen to co-headline at the Bud Light Reggae Fest in Mount Snow, VT! Proverbial hit the studio in late Fall 2013 to record a new full-length album titled “Pick up the Pieces.” The album was mixed and mastered at The Rhythm Shack in Richmond, VA with engineer Eric “Spade” Haynes [Busta Rhymes, Wiz Khalifa, Chris Brown.] “Positive energy and vibes is still our central message from the first album to this second release,” said member Thomas Whitesell, (saxophone/vocals). “The moral compass of our songs always points in the same direction of positivity and perseverance no matter what life brings your way.”  Gathering momentum from their sophomore offering, Pick up the Pieces, the group’s boundless potential has certainly been noted and will only continue to unfold as they travel the country sowing their musical oats.  Keep your eyes and ears open as they continue to spread the PROVERBIAL sound...And be prepared to dance your ass off!
