Russell Howard writes songs about the rewards and struggles of self discovery. Irresistibly shimmering with awe, melancholy, and steely optimism, Russell’s music feels at times both intimate and expansive. Having shared the stage with such diverse and respected artists as The Lumineers, Sister Hazel, Teddy Geiger, Greg Laswell, Joe Firstman, and Griffin House, Russell has toured extensively, spreading his proprietary blend of folk, indie, and pop across the US. After crowd-funding the recording of his EP City Heart, the 2012 release received such a positive reception that in 2013 City Heart was expanded and re-released via Rock Ridge Music as City Heart +. With 2014 just beginning, Russell is beginning work on his long awaited debut LP with producer and long time collaborator Lawson White. As Pennsylvania’s Daily News affirms, “Russell Howard has what it takes to move on to bigger and better things.”
