After much-acclaim and sold-out debut shows , Charlotte’s JazzArts Initiative’s(JAI) new monthly series—The Jazz Room @ The Stage Door Theater – continues to swing on Tuesday, July 16th with saxophone aficionado Tim Gordon paying tribute to the world's first BeBop tenor saxophonist Dexter Gordon. The Stage Door Theater is part of Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, at the corner of 5th and College in Uptown Charlotte.

This new series takes place the third Tuesday of each month and features one 6:00PM set with the region’s most gifted musicians recreating the music of the best-loved jazz masters. The Jazz Room @ The Stage Door Theater provides a casual and intimate setting with tables and a full bar, reminiscent of the classic jazz rooms of yesteryear. Limited tickets are only $10 and can be purchased at www.carolinatix.org,by calling 704-372-1000, or at the door if available. It is highly advisable to purchase tickets in advance as prior JAZZ ROOM shows have sold out and many fans had to be turned away at the door.
