Overview

Coinciding with National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, Carolina Voices’ Festival Singers will partner with local organizations working to educate and bring awareness of the scope of homelessness in our community.  The Festival Singers will present a heartfelt evening of music and spoken word that features messages that give voice to the homeless.  The highlighted work is the Beatitude Mass: For the Homeless by Henry Mollicone for chamber orchestra and choir.  This piece incorporates words from the Latin Mass juxtaposed with English words by William Luce.  The new texts are drawn from interviews Mollicone and Luce conducted with people living in homeless shelters.  Other music on the program will include, Choral Reflections on Amazing Grace by Roger Ames, The Road Home by Stephen Paulus and more.  We invite you to join us for this inspirational performance.
