Overview

Courage is demonstrated each day by those who work tirelessly in the battlefields of war, discrimination, and personal trials. Some are recognized for their courage while most are unspoken heroes and heroines.  In addition to patriotic choral selections honoring Veterans, other pieces at this Festival Singers concert will include Last Letter Home, a soldier’s last words to his family; Flying,a stunning SSAA work by composer Rachel DeVore Fogarty that features the reflective words of legendary aviator Amelia Earhart accompanied by oboe, violin, cello and; Song for Equal Suffrage, an anthem from the women’s right to vote movement.  The centerpiece of the event will be A Silence Haunts Me, an original, thoughtful, and passionate work of choral art by composer Jake Runestad that uses Beethoven’s own words describing his disbelief and struggle with the loss of his hearing.

Tickets are available for sale in advance until 5pm on Friday, November 15.  Additional tickets are available for sale at the door.
