A time-honored annual tradition in Charlotte, the forces of the CMC and the North Carolina Baroque Orchestra with nationally-renowned soloists will present Handel’s Messiah in an historically informed performance.

Inclement Weather Plans for Messiah: December 7-9

Charlotte Master Chorale is closely monitoring the winter weather that will possibly affect one or more of our performances scheduled for this weekend.

At this time, the performances in Charlotte on Friday, December 7 and Saturday, December 8 at First United Methodist Church at 7:30 p.m. will proceed as scheduled.

In order to ensure that our patrons and our performers remain as safe as possible, we have made the difficult decision to move the performance in Gastonia scheduled for Sunday, December 9 at 4:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Gastonia to Saturday, December 8 at 3:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Gastonia. Due to time constraints, this performance will be an abridged version of Messiah featuring Part I and ending with the Hallelujah Chorus.

We want to stress again that safety is our number one priority with these decisions, and therefore, all patrons have the option of using their ticket(s), no matter the performance purchased, for entry into the Friday, December 7 or Saturday, December 8 evening performances at First United Methodist Church in Charlotte, or the Saturday, December 8 afternoon performance at First United Methodist Church of Gastonia.
