Overview
Join us for a special night of poetry! On The Way centers on the coming of age for a poet and the pursuit of “Black Boy Joy.” This live recorded event features a line up poets/artists with a final presentation offered by Derick Lee.
Though originally from Jacksonville, FL, Derick Lee currently resides in North Carolina. He has a background in social work and education, currently serving as a storyteller with the non-profit EducationNC. Among previous performances, he was an opener for Rupi Kaur’s World Tour. Additionally, he is an author of the Stream of Consciousness series. The latest of the books, Stream of Consciousness: Hoodie Season Vol. II, was released in 2021.
