The SEED20 event has changed its format to a Virtual Event on March 31st as well as an in-person SEED20 Celebration scheduled for a later date.  Ticket holders, please see below for more information.

Created by Social Venture Partners (SVP), the annual SEED20 program identifies, highlights, and connects the community to our region’s most innovative ideas for tackling pressing social challenges.

This year, due to recommendations by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, we are refraining from gathering a large group of people. As a result, the OnStage event will be a virtual event at 7pm on March 31, 2020. All twenty nonprofit entrepreneurs will be showcased during the virtual event. Vying for prizes, ten finalists will give fast-paced three-minute pitches of their ideas to the virtual audience. You, as part of the online audience, will have a chance to vote for your favorite!

In addition, we will plan a celebratory reception later this year, which will provide an opportunity for SEED20 ticketholders to network and support social entrepreneurs and the energy and ideas they bring to our region. You will be invited and encouraged to attend and engage with all 20 nonprofit participants, enjoy food and beverages, and potentially hear the winning pitches live.

Ticket price includes:  Access to the  virtual event including the ability to vote for the Wells Fargo People's Choice Grand Prize plus an invitation to the live SEED20 celebration later this year.

SEED20 Ticketholders,

Given the public health situation, our Social Venture Partners Board of Directors and our SEED20 Steering Committee recognize the need to do our part in prioritizing public health and containment of the Coronavirus. In weighing the best options against the impact to the nonprofit participants and community, we decided to proactively curtail our March 31st SEED20 OnStage event to eliminate the large gathering at the recommendation of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. Our goal is to award the more than $40,000 in prize money to the winning organizations as planned. As such, the show must go on, albeit in a virtual format!

March 31 – Virtual Event

We will be producing a virtual event in lieu of a live audience program. It will be complete with Hosts, introductions of the 20 participants and the heart of the show - the pitches by the ten finalists. Audience voting will take place from the comfort of your own home. As a SEED20 ticketholder, you will be receiving additional information on how to participate online with voting instructions at a later time.

If you have been to SEED20 before, you know the networking and community engagement are key components to making SEED20 so impactful, so you will understand why a live event is essential! We will provide more information on this event as our planning proceeds.

We greatly appreciate your commitment to SEED20 through your ticket purchase. Your support has already enabled so much benefit to our Class of 2020 over the last four months. We’ve produced introductory videos for each participant, provided customized professional headshots, shared their introductions via blogs and social posts, and coached them on their storytelling abilities to craft and deliver compelling and succinct messages about who they are and what they do. We do understand that you purchased tickets for a live March 31st event, and our new plan may not meet your original expectations. In the spirit of supporting the nonprofits, we encourage your engagement with our modified program, however CarolinaTix will provide a refund if requested. Please call 704.372.1000.
